Nearly Invisible Teeth Straightening Solution

For many individuals, the aesthetic impact of traditional metal dental braces is a major concern, especially for adults. The thought of wearing visible metal braces for an extended period of time can be discouraging. Invisalign® provides a solution with its nearly invisible aligning system that effectively straightens teeth without the use of metal.

The Invisalign® treatment involves a series of custom-made aligning trays that are changed every few weeks to adjust to the new tooth configuration. Not only are Invisalign® aligning trays less noticeable, but they can also be removed temporarily for special occasions, giving patients more flexibility and control over the duration of their treatment. Many individuals have expressed complete satisfaction with both the Invisalign® treatment process and the impressive results it delivers.

What bite problems can Invisalign® correct?

Invisalign® can treat the same dental problems as regular braces, but with the added advantage of being almost invisible and easily removable.

Here are some problems that are commonly corrected with Invisalign®:

  • Overcrowding - This occurs when there is too little space for the teeth to align normally in the mouth. Overcrowding can cause tooth decay and increase the likelihood of gum disease.
  • Large gaps between teeth - This can sometimes occur because teeth are missing or because the jaw continues to grow abnormally.
  • Crossbite - This common dental problem occurs when one or multiple upper teeth bite inside the lower teeth. As a consequence, uneven wear can lead to bone erosion and gum disease.
  • Overbite - This problem occurs when the upper teeth project further than, or completely cover, the lower teeth. Eventually, jaw pain and TMJ may occur.
  • Underbite - This is the inverse of the overbite; the lower teeth project further than, or completely cover, the upper teeth. Eventually, jaw pain and TMJ can occur.

What advantages does Invisalign offer in comparison to traditional braces?

When deciding between traditional braces and Invisalign aligning trays for teeth alignment, there are several factors to consider. Invisalign® offers the advantage of fully removable aligning trays, requiring more discipline from the patient. However, the trays are comfortable and nearly invisible, making them a popular choice. Both treatments can achieve similar results.

Before starting treatment, our orthodontist will create a personalized plan based on three-dimensional digital images of the jaw. This technology allows for precise movement of specific teeth, different views of the jaw, and a preview of potential facial changes. Invisalign® trays can be customized to enhance facial aesthetics.

Once the treatment plan is finalized, a set of aligners is produced. The number of aligners needed varies for each case, typically ranging from 20-29 sets per arch.

What considerations should be kept in mind when using Invisalign® trays?

Adjusting to life with Invisalign® aligning trays may take a few weeks. The trays should be worn at all times, except when eating or drinking. It's important to take them out when consuming food or beverages to prevent food particles from getting trapped and causing tooth decay.

Typically, new trays are needed every two weeks, and progress can be visibly seen between appointments. Invisalign® aligning trays have truly transformed orthodontic treatment, known for their comfort and effectiveness.
